45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Megan Allgeier of San Angelo has attained the Girl
67 Scout Gold Award, the organization's highest commendation; and
78 WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Allgeier successfully
89 met a series of requirements emphasizing community service,
910 personal and spiritual growth, positive values, and leadership
1011 skills; in addition, she planned and implemented a Girl Scout Gold
1112 Award project that involved the creation of a dog park in San
1213 Angelo; she spoke at city council and parks and recreation
1314 committee meetings, and she also organized a walkathon and glow run
1415 to raise funds for the construction of the park; and
1516 WHEREAS, By encouraging young women to build confidence,
1617 explore career opportunities, and become more socially conscious,
1718 the Girl Scout program is helping its participants to achieve their
1819 greatest potential as engaged citizens and leaders; and
1920 WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Megan Allgeier has
2021 demonstrated in pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the highest
2122 ideals of the Girl Scout organization, and she indeed merits
2223 special recognition for her achievement; now, therefore, be it
2324 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2425 Legislature hereby congratulate Megan Allgeier on earning the Girl
2526 Scout Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
2627 success and happiness; and, be it further
2728 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2829 prepared for Ms. Allgeier as an expression of high regard by the
2930 Texas House of Representatives.
