 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Four musicians from Midway High School in Waco were
 chosen as 2015 Texas All-State orchestra members by the Texas Music
 Educators Association; and
 WHEREAS, The TMEA All-State designation is the highest
 achievement that a Texas music student can earn; more than 60,000
 young people from across the state compete every year for a chair in
 one of 15 All-State bands, orchestras, and choirs; those who are
 selected for one of the ensembles are among the top one percent of
 high school musicians in the Lone Star State and are invited to
 attend the annual TMEA convention in San Antonio, where they
 participate in three days of intense rehearsals and perform a
 concert under the direction of a nationally recognized conductor;
 and
 WHEREAS, Benefiting from the guidance of Midway High
 orchestra director Beau Benson, these students demonstrated
 exceptional musicianship and technical facility throughout the
 audition process; this talented group includes junior violist
 Hannah Burnett for the symphony orchestra, senior bassist Brendan
 Carrillo and freshman violinist Augusta Schubert for the
 philharmonic orchestra, and sophomore violinist Edward Kim for the
 string orchestra; and
 WHEREAS, Through their skill and hard work, these gifted
 young Texans have earned a place among the state's elite high school
 musicians, and they may indeed take great pride in this outstanding
 achievement; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Midway High School students
 selected as 2015 Texas All-State orchestra members and extend to
 them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
 for Ms. Burnett, Mr. Carrillo, Mr. Kim, and Ms. Schubert as an
 expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
