5	5	WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the State of Texas
6	6	is pleased to recognize Annie Uribe Turner, who has been selected
7	7	for induction on March 21, 2015, into the San Antonio Women's Hall
8	8	of Fame for her outstanding work in leadership in business and
9	9	finance; and
10	10	WHEREAS, Since 1984, the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame
11	11	annually honors those women who have contributed significantly to
12	12	the San Antonio community and the Bexar County region through their
13	13	accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and
14	14	WHEREAS, Over the course of over 33 years in banking, Annie
15	15	Uribe Turner has enjoyed a career that has allowed her to change the
16	16	perception that banking was merely a man's profession into one
17	17	profession where women are an integral part of the financial world;
18	18	and
19	19	WHEREAS, Starting at a small local bank in Laredo, she has
20	20	risen to become Vice President, Wells Fargo Bank, acting as a
21	21	manager of lender assisting small and growing businesses in the
22	22	community; and
23	23	WHEREAS, Annie Uribe Turner's statement regarding the
24	24	progress of women in the area of business and finance sums up the
25	25	attributes that make her worthy for induction into the San Antonio
26	26	Women's Hall of Fame: "When I began in business banking, there was
27	27	not a single female commercial lender and certainly no female
28	28	commercial lending managers. Today at Wells Fargo San Antonio/Hill
29	29	Country, over 30 percent of our lenders are female. I'm thankful to
30	30	work in an environment where women feel valued for their individual
31	31	traits, skills and talents"; now, therefore, be it
32	32	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the State of
33	33	Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend Annie Uribe Turner for her
34	34	exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on her
35	35	induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be it
36	36	further
37	37	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
38	38	prepared for her as an expression of high regard and esteem by the
39	39	Texas House of Representatives.
