| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the State of Texas |

| 6 | 6 | | is pleased to recognize Rosie Castro, who has been selected for |

| 7 | 7 | | induction on March 21, 2015, into the San Antonio Women's Hall of |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Fame for her outstanding work in leadership in higher education; |

| 9 | 9 | | and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Since 1984, the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | annually honors those women who have contributed significantly to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | the San Antonio community and the Bexar County region through their |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, A longtime supporter of higher education in Bexar |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | County, Rosie Castro has worked tirelessly extend the opportunities |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | provided by higher education to the community; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, A gifted teacher, professor and higher education |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | administrator, Rosie Castro juggled these responsibilities along |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | with her role as a community leader and mother of twin boys; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, She advanced the cause of higher education in Bexar |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | County by serving as both the Director of the Center of Academic |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Transitions and the Dean for Student Success at Palo Alto College; |

| 23 | 23 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the State of |

| 25 | 25 | | Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend Rosie Castro for her |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on her |

| 27 | 27 | | induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be it |
