| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Austin Olivera of Boy Scouts of America Troop |

| 6 | 7 | | No. 999 in Plano has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this |

| 7 | 8 | | accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant |

| 9 | 10 | | honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the |

| 10 | 11 | | scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding |

| 11 | 12 | | criteria, Mr. Olivera earned not only the requisite 21 merit |

| 12 | 13 | | badges, but more than 30 badges total; he also successfully |

| 13 | 14 | | completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his community, which |

| 14 | 15 | | included making additions and improvements to a no-kill animal |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | shelter; and |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding |

| 17 | 18 | | leadership ability throughout his scouting career, winning the |

| 18 | 19 | | respect and admiration of the fellow members of his troop as he |

| 19 | 20 | | worked toward the highest rank that the organization offers; a |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | junior at Plano West High School, he plays outside linebacker on the |

| 21 | 22 | | varsity football team and hopes to study sports medicine and play |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | football at Baylor University; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Olivera's dedication to excellence and |

| 24 | 25 | | his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy |

| 25 | 26 | | to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with |

| 26 | 27 | | pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
