| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Residents of El Paso County benefit each day from |

| 7 | 8 | | quality of life in their communities through the fulfillment of |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Walter Miller has admirably served as mayor of |

| 10 | 11 | | Horizon City since his election to that office in 2009; currently in |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | his fourth term, he has worked diligently to promote economic |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | development and twice chaired the El Paso Metropolitan Planning |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Organization; prior to his service as mayor, he was a city |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | councilman for Horizon City for eight years; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mayor Miller earned a bachelor's degree in |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | agricultural engineering from Texas A&M University; he has worked |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | as an environmental consultant in El Paso for the past |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | quarter-century, and he is currently a district manager for EFI |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Global, an environmental and forensic engineering firm; this |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | distinguished civic leader has also been active in the Greater El |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Paso Chamber of Commerce; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Walter Miller has demonstrated a steadfast |

| 23 | 24 | | commitment to making El Paso County an even better place in which to |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | live and work, and in so doing, he has earned the deep respect and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | appreciation of his fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 27 | 28 | | Legislature hereby honor Horizon City mayor Walter Miller for his |

| 28 | 29 | | efforts in behalf of his community and extend to him sincere best |

| 29 | 30 | | wishes for the future; and, be it further |
