45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Residents of El Paso County benefit each day from
67 the contributions of those public servants who greatly improve the
78 quality of life in their communities through the fulfillment of
89 their duties; and
910 WHEREAS, Walter Miller has admirably served as mayor of
1011 Horizon City since his election to that office in 2009; currently in
1112 his fourth term, he has worked diligently to promote economic
1213 development and twice chaired the El Paso Metropolitan Planning
1314 Organization; prior to his service as mayor, he was a city
1415 councilman for Horizon City for eight years; and
1516 WHEREAS, Mayor Miller earned a bachelor's degree in
1617 agricultural engineering from Texas A&M University; he has worked
1718 as an environmental consultant in El Paso for the past
1819 quarter-century, and he is currently a district manager for EFI
1920 Global, an environmental and forensic engineering firm; this
2021 distinguished civic leader has also been active in the Greater El
2122 Paso Chamber of Commerce; and
2223 WHEREAS, Walter Miller has demonstrated a steadfast
2324 commitment to making El Paso County an even better place in which to
2425 live and work, and in so doing, he has earned the deep respect and
2526 appreciation of his fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it
2627 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2728 Legislature hereby honor Horizon City mayor Walter Miller for his
2829 efforts in behalf of his community and extend to him sincere best
2930 wishes for the future; and, be it further
3031 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3132 prepared for Mayor Miller as an expression of high regard by the
3233 Texas House of Representatives.
