5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Those Texans who give generously of their time and |

6 | 7 | | talents to benefit the greater good are truly deserving of our |

7 | 8 | | gratitude and admiration, and Hector Gonzalez of El Paso is indeed |

8 | 9 | | one such individual; and |

9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Gonzalez is an alumnus of The University of |
---|
10 | 11 | | Texas at El Paso, where he earned a bachelor's degree with honors in |
---|
11 | 12 | | multidisciplinary studies; he answered his nation's call to duty |
---|
12 | 13 | | during the Vietnam War by enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1971, |
---|
13 | 14 | | and he went on to lead a distinguished military career that spanned |
---|
14 | 15 | | two decades; after returning to civilian life, he devoted the next |
---|
15 | 16 | | 18 years to working for two nonprofit organizations that provided |
---|
16 | 17 | | services to the mentally ill; and |
---|
17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Gonzalez enjoys the |
---|
18 | 19 | | love and support of his two children, Steven and Cory, and he is a |
---|
19 | 20 | | valued member of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church; and |
---|
20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Hector Gonzalez served courageously in the armed |
---|
21 | 22 | | forces of his country and has since contributed to his community |
---|
22 | 23 | | with equal commitment, and it is indeed a pleasure to recognize him |
---|
23 | 24 | | for his outstanding efforts; now, therefore, be it |

24 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

25 | 26 | | Legislature hereby commend Hector Gonzalez for his exemplary |
---|
26 | 27 | | service to his state and his nation and extend to him sincere best |
---|
27 | 28 | | wishes for the future; and, be it further |

28 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
