45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Members of the Silsbee High School band have
67 qualified to participate in the University Interscholastic League
78 Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest in May 2015; and
89 WHEREAS, To advance to this prestigious competition,
910 students must earn a "superior" rating at the regional level for
1011 performing a memorized Class I solo or a Class I piece with a small
1112 ensemble; and
12- WHEREAS, This year, 19 Fighting Tiger band members received
13+ WHEREAS, This year, 18 Fighting Tiger band members received
1314 first division ratings and collected a total of 36 gold medals;
1415 these students include Eric Arlan, Kristi Barnes, Jessica Barnett,
1516 Kayla Coffey, Dillon Costlow, Carly Czerwinski, Jakob Duke, Kristen
1617 Key, Jessica LeFloor, Colton Martin, Sable Prater, Keith Ruggles,
1718 Colin Scott, Alex Taylor, Austin Taylor, Megan Taylor, Tevin
18- Walker, John Watters, and Hunter Wood; and
19+ Walker, and John Watters; and
1920 WHEREAS, This notable feat is the culmination of countless
2021 hours of practice and an unwavering dedication to excellence, and
2122 these fine young Texans may indeed take justifiable pride in their
2223 accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
2324 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2425 Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the Silsbee High
2526 School band on advancing to the UIL 2015 Texas State Solo and
2627 Ensemble Contest and extend to each student sincere best wishes for
2728 continued success; and, be it further
2829 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2930 prepared for the band as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3031 House of Representatives.
