| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Deby Lewis has greatly benefited the youth of her |

| 6 | 7 | | community through her service as a member of the Ysleta Independent |

| 7 | 8 | | School District Board of Trustees; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of Eastwood High School and The |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | University of Texas at El Paso, Ms. Lewis was elected in 2011 as the |

| 10 | 11 | | District 4 trustee; and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Lewis is retired from a notable 36-year career |

| 12 | 13 | | as a teacher and coach with Ysleta ISD; at Eastwood High, she |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | coached tennis and served as director of student activities for 17 |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | years, and she was the student council advisor for more than a |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | quarter-century; during her tenure, she designed the student |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | leadership program curriculum that is now employed throughout the |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | area, and she shared her expertise with the Texas Association of |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Student Councils Board of Directors; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Deby Lewis has demonstrated a steadfast commitment |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | to building a bright and promising future for local children, and in |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | so doing, she has earned the deep respect and appreciation of her |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 24 | 25 | | Legislature hereby honor Deby Lewis for her service as an Ysleta ISD |

| 25 | 26 | | board trustee and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; |
