| 11 | 12 | | cartoons, and property desecration at cemeteries and places of |

| 12 | 13 | | worship and communal activity were recorded in Europe, North |

| 13 | 14 | | America, Latin America, and the Middle East; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, In April 2014, the U.S. Department of State released |

| 15 | 16 | | the International Religious Freedom Report and noted, |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | "[t]hroughout Europe, the historical stain of anti-Semitism |

| 17 | 18 | | continued to be a fact of life, leading many individuals who are |

| 18 | 19 | | Jewish to conceal their religious identity"; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, A recent European Union Fundamental Rights Agency |

| 20 | 21 | | survey in eight countries found that 25 percent of the Jews |

| 21 | 22 | | interviewed reported that they had been victims of an anti-Semitic |

| 22 | 23 | | episode in the past year, and many Jewish citizens of the EU are |

| 23 | 24 | | thinking of emigrating because of the mounting anti-Semitic |

| 24 | 25 | | violence and their increased security concerns; and |

| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, It is the responsibility of every citizen to take a |

| 26 | 27 | | strong stand against anti-Semitism and any religious and cultural |

| 27 | 28 | | intolerance; now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 29 | 30 | | Legislature hereby express its condemnation of all forms of |

| 30 | 31 | | domestic and global anti-Semitism; and, be it further |
