45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Residents of El Paso benefit each day from the
67 contributions of those public servants who greatly improve the
78 quality of life in their communities through the fulfillment of
89 their duties; and
910 WHEREAS, Vincent Perez was elected to El Paso County
1011 Commissioners Court Precinct No. 3 in 2014, and he currently
1112 represents more than 200,000 constituents and oversees a budget of
1213 nearly $300 million; during his time in office, Commissioner Perez
1314 has worked diligently to improve access to affordable health care
1415 and housing opportunities for county residents and to expand
1516 emergency services for individuals living outside the city; and
1617 WHEREAS, A graduate of Bel Air High School, this esteemed
1718 gentleman holds a bachelor's degree in foreign service and a
1819 master's degree in international law and government from Georgetown
1920 University; and
2021 WHEREAS, Vincent Perez has demonstrated a steadfast
2122 commitment to making El Paso an even better place in which to live
2223 and work, and in so doing, he has earned the deep respect and
2324 appreciation of his fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it
2425 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2526 Legislature hereby honor Vincent Perez for his service as an El Paso
2627 County commissioner and extend to him sincere best wishes for the
2728 future; and, be it further
2829 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2930 prepared for Mr. Perez as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3031 House of Representatives.
