5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, State Board of Education member Martha M. Dominguez |

6 | 7 | | of El Paso has distinguished herself as an ardent champion of public |

7 | 8 | | education, and her work has greatly benefited the youth of her |

8 | 9 | | community; and |

9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, During her notable career, Ms. Dominguez has served |

10 | 11 | | as an instructional aide, teacher, instructional supervisor, |
---|
11 | 12 | | assistant principal, and central office administrator; she has held |
---|
12 | 13 | | leadership positions in a number of professional organizations and |
---|
13 | 14 | | earned the Teacher of the Year Award from both Riverside High School |
---|
14 | 15 | | and the Ysleta Federation of Teachers; and |
---|
15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Dominguez was elected to the State Board of |
---|
16 | 17 | | Education in November 2012, and she has ably served as the District |
---|
17 | 18 | | 1 member since her term began in January 2013; a native El Pasoan |
---|
18 | 19 | | and graduate of The University of Texas at El Paso, she holds |
---|
19 | 20 | | advanced degrees from Stephen F. Austin State University and New |
---|
20 | 21 | | Mexico State University; and |
---|
21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Children are the Lone Star State's most precious |
---|
22 | 23 | | resource, and through her dedicated efforts and notable |

23 | 24 | | achievements, Martha Dominguez has made a valuable investment in |

24 | 25 | | the future of our state and nation; now, therefore, be it |

25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

26 | 27 | | Legislature hereby honor Martha M. Dominguez for her service on the |

27 | 28 | | State Board of Education and extend to her sincere best wishes for |

28 | 29 | | continued success with her important work; and, be it further |
