 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The 100th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed
 cause for celebration, and Nelda Modena Weathersbee of Waco reached
 this special milestone on February 15, 2015; and
 WHEREAS, Born in 1915 to John Robert and Madie Vera
 Richardson in Frisco, this lifelong Texan lived in Dallas and
 Marlin before settling in Waco; and
 WHEREAS, On May 28, 1932, she married Claude Harrison
 Weathersbee, with whom she shared 50 years until his death in 1983;
 the couple raised four daughters, Phyllis Yvonne Layne, Carolyn
 Jeanette Lara-Baird, Armeda Ann Jost, and Teresa Wonnelle Place
 Weber, and the family has since grown to include five grandchildren
 and three great-grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Weathersbee worked at a drug store and a
 supermarket before joining the staff of the Library Binding
 Company; she enjoyed a career there that spanned more than three
 decades and retired just prior to her 80th birthday; and
 WHEREAS, A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ,
 Mrs. Weathersbee has written monthly columns for her church's
 newspaper for more than two and a half decades; she has also
 supported Haitian missionary efforts; and
 WHEREAS, Meeting life's challenges with resilience,
 optimism, and determination, Nelda Weathersbee has gracefully
 reached the century mark and continues to enrich the lives of all
 who are fortunate enough to know her; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Nelda Modena Weathersbee on her
 100th birthday and extend to her warmest best wishes for continued
 happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mrs. Weathersbee as an expression of high regard by
 the Texas House of Representatives.
