H.R. No. 1472
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Dr. Vince Sherman has received a 2015 Frist
Humanitarian Award from St. David's Georgetown Hospital, and this
presents a fitting opportunity to recognize him for his notable
accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, Named for Dr. Thomas Frist Sr., philanthropist and
founder of Health Corporation of America, the Frist Humanitarian
Award is the highest honor given each year to physicians,
employees, and volunteers in the St. David's HealthCare network;
the recipients, who were chosen for their dedication to patients
and to the hospital community, will also be considered for HCA's
national Frist Humanitarian Award; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Sherman, affectionately known as "Dr. Vince,"
is an obstetrician and gynecologist with St. David's Georgetown
Hospital; at least one patient credits him with saving her life, due
to his quick action during a surgical procedure, and he works
tirelessly to ensure all of his patients receive the best possible
care; his resourcefulness and encouragement make him a great asset
to the hospital and to his associates; and
WHEREAS, Demonstrating exceptional skill and compassion in
all his efforts with St. David's HealthCare, Dr. Vince Sherman has
earned the esteem of his peers while making a positive difference in
the lives of many Central Texas residents; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Vince Sherman on receiving a
2015 Frist Humanitarian Award from St. David's Georgetown Hospital
and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Dr. Sherman as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
