| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Vince Sherman has received a 2015 Frist |

| 6 | 7 | | Humanitarian Award from St. David's Georgetown Hospital, and this |

| 7 | 8 | | presents a fitting opportunity to recognize him for his notable |

| 8 | 9 | | accomplishments; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Named for Dr. Thomas Frist Sr., philanthropist and |

| 10 | 11 | | founder of Health Corporation of America, the Frist Humanitarian |

| 11 | 12 | | Award is the highest honor given each year to physicians, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | employees, and volunteers in the St. David's HealthCare network; |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | the recipients, who were chosen for their dedication to patients |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | and to the hospital community, will also be considered for HCA's |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | national Frist Humanitarian Award; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Sherman, affectionately known as "Dr. Vince," |

| 17 | 18 | | is an obstetrician and gynecologist with St. David's Georgetown |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Hospital; at least one patient credits him with saving her life, due |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | to his quick action during a surgical procedure, and he works |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | tirelessly to ensure all of his patients receive the best possible |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | care; his resourcefulness and encouragement make him a great asset |

| 22 | 23 | | to the hospital and to his associates; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Demonstrating exceptional skill and compassion in |

| 24 | 25 | | all his efforts with St. David's HealthCare, Dr. Vince Sherman has |

| 25 | 26 | | earned the esteem of his peers while making a positive difference in |

| 26 | 27 | | the lives of many Central Texas residents; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
