| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Residents of El Paso County benefit each day from |

| 7 | 8 | | quality of life in their communities through the fulfillment of |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Edward Dion was appointed to the position of El Paso |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | County auditor in 1997, and over the course of his exemplary tenure, |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | he has distinguished himself as the county's chief financial |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | officer, investment officer, treasurer, and paymaster; Mr. Dion |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | has worked in county government for more than three decades, and in |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | fulfilling his duties, he has earned the respect and admiration of |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | his colleagues and the public; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at El Paso and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | a licensed CPA, Mr. Dion has served in a number of important |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | capacities for the Texas Association of County Auditors and the |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Texas Association of Counties; moreover, he is a member of the |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Government Finance Officers Association and a government |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | representative for the Accounting Department Advisory Committee at |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | UTEP; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Edward Dion has demonstrated a steadfast commitment |

| 24 | 25 | | to making El Paso County an even better place in which to live and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | work, and in so doing, he has earned the deep respect and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | appreciation of his fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | Legislature hereby honor El Paso County Auditor Edward Dion for his |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | efforts in behalf of his community and extend to him sincere best |

| 30 | 31 | | wishes for the future; and, be it further |

| 31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

| 32 | 33 | | prepared for Mr. Dion as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
