| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, J. R. Gallegos is concluding his tenure on the |

| 6 | 7 | | Pleasanton City Council in 2015, after more than two decades of |

| 7 | 8 | | exemplary service; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Gallegos was first elected to represent |

| 9 | 10 | | District 4 in 1992, and his knowledge and expertise in a wide range |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | of issues have earned him the respect and admiration of many people |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | over the past 23 years; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan has played an instrumental role |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | in several important municipal projects and infrastructure |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | improvements, including the expansion of the wastewater treatment |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | plant, the renovation of City Hall, and the construction of a sports |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | complex; he has also devoted his time and energies to serving on |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | various boards and special committees for the city and Atascosa |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | County; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Gallegos has further contributed to his |

| 20 | 21 | | community through his volunteer work with a number of area |

| 21 | 22 | | organizations and initiatives; in addition, he is an active |

| 22 | 23 | | congregant at St. Andrew Catholic Church; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, The effective operation of city government depends |

| 24 | 25 | | on the hard work of committed public servants, and J. R. Gallegos |

| 25 | 26 | | has proven himself to be a civic leader of great vision and ability; |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 28 | 29 | | Legislature hereby commend J. R. Gallegos for his service on the |
