45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, J. R. Gallegos is concluding his tenure on the
67 Pleasanton City Council in 2015, after more than two decades of
78 exemplary service; and
89 WHEREAS, Mr. Gallegos was first elected to represent
910 District 4 in 1992, and his knowledge and expertise in a wide range
1011 of issues have earned him the respect and admiration of many people
1112 over the past 23 years; and
1213 WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan has played an instrumental role
1314 in several important municipal projects and infrastructure
1415 improvements, including the expansion of the wastewater treatment
1516 plant, the renovation of City Hall, and the construction of a sports
1617 complex; he has also devoted his time and energies to serving on
1718 various boards and special committees for the city and Atascosa
1819 County; and
1920 WHEREAS, Mr. Gallegos has further contributed to his
2021 community through his volunteer work with a number of area
2122 organizations and initiatives; in addition, he is an active
2223 congregant at St. Andrew Catholic Church; and
2324 WHEREAS, The effective operation of city government depends
2425 on the hard work of committed public servants, and J. R. Gallegos
2526 has proven himself to be a civic leader of great vision and ability;
2627 now, therefore, be it
2728 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2829 Legislature hereby commend J. R. Gallegos for his service on the
2930 Pleasanton City Council and extend to him sincere best wishes for
3031 the future; and, be it further
3132 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3233 prepared for Mr. Gallegos as an expression of high regard by the
3334 Texas House of Representatives.
