6 | 7 | | comfort those saddened by the passing of James Standridge of Beach |

7 | 8 | | City on February 23, 2015, at the age of 69; and |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born on May 28, 1945, in Holla Bend, Arkansas, Jim |

9 | 10 | | Standridge was the son of James Melton Standridge and Lucille Marie |

10 | 11 | | Howell; he enjoyed a career with ExxonMobil that spanned 37 years, |
---|
11 | 12 | | and after retiring in 2002, he became a consultant in the oil and |
---|
12 | 13 | | gas industry; and |
---|
13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Standridge loved his adopted hometown of Beach |
---|
14 | 15 | | City, and he worked tirelessly in its behalf, serving as a council |
---|
15 | 16 | | member for three years and as mayor for eight years; he further |
---|
16 | 17 | | contributed to his community as a member of the Beach City Lions |
---|
17 | 18 | | Club and as a congregant of Fisher Road Baptist Church; in his |
---|
18 | 19 | | leisure time, he enjoyed bird-watching, and he delighted in |
---|
19 | 20 | | visiting his family's farm in Chester; he was also especially |
---|
20 | 21 | | knowledgeable about automobiles, history, and genealogy; |
---|
21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Standridge enjoyed the |

22 | 23 | | love and support of his wife, Rita, with whom he shared 50 years, |

23 | 24 | | and he was the proud father of three children, James, Cara, and |
---|
24 | 25 | | Stephanie; and |
---|
25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to his family and his community, Jim |

26 | 27 | | Standridge made a meaningful difference in the lives of his loved |

27 | 28 | | ones and fellow citizens alike, and his contributions will be |

28 | 29 | | fondly remembered for years to come; now, therefore, be it |

29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

30 | 31 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of James Standridge |

31 | 32 | | and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family: to his |
