| 14 | 14 | | church by Prince Carl of Solms-Braunfels before the first settlers |

| 15 | 15 | | ever arrived on the banks of the Comal; the church incorporated in |

| 16 | 16 | | October 1845, becoming the first congregation in the community; and |

| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The original church building was a cedar log |

| 18 | 18 | | structure; in 1875, the cornerstone was laid for the present-day |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | building, which over the years has been expanded and improved; the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | tower was added in 1889, and in 1955, the chancel and chapel were |

| 21 | 21 | | enlarged; First Protestant Church is a Recorded Texas Historic |

| 22 | 22 | | Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places; |

| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Since its inception, the congregation has benefited |

| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, First Protestant Church has long served as a source |

| 29 | 29 | | continued existence is a tribute to the unwavering commitment of |
