| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |

| 6 | 7 | | death of Maria Mabelia Alonzo of Robstown on March 8, 2015, at the |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born in Hidalgo County on February 8, 1941, to |

| 9 | 10 | | Santos and Nieves Morin, Maria Alonzo grew up in a large family in |

| 10 | 11 | | Robstown; she married Jacinto Alonzo on June 17, 1957, and they were |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | blessed with nine children, Rosie, Janie, Gracie, Idalia, Maria, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Diane, Jacinto, David, and Rudy; the couple later shared in the joy |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | of welcoming 18 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren into their |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | family; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Alonzo was employed as an Avon representative, |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | and she worked in retail as a department manager at Winn's and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Walmart; she was also an active member of St. Anthony's Catholic |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Church, where she served as a CCD instructor and as president of the |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | altar society; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Although Maria Alonzo will be deeply missed, |

| 21 | 22 | | cherished memories of time spent in her company will long endure in |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | the hearts of her family and friends; now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 24 | 25 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Maria Mabelia Alonzo |
