| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Bill and Martha Westfall retired from their |

| 6 | 7 | | positions with the Robstown Independent School District in 2012, |

| 7 | 8 | | following more than 40 years of outstanding contributions to their |

| 8 | 9 | | students and their community; and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, After graduating from high school in Cisco, where |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | the two were sweethearts, Mr. and Mrs. Westfall attended The |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | University of Texas and then went on to look for a school district |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | where they both could teach; they were hired by Robstown ISD in June |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | 1971, one month before they exchanged the vows of matrimony; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, At Robstown High School, Mr. Westfall taught |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | economics and government, and Mrs. Westfall was an English teacher |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | and later served as the testing coordinator for the district; the |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Westfalls endeavored to make learning fun and to both challenge and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | encourage their students, and their influences can be seen across |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | generations of Robstown scholars; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Westfall remained in Robstown after |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | they retired, and they enjoy spending more time with their loved |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | ones and taking their grandchildren to the Nueces County Keach |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | Family Library; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, In demonstrating an unwavering commitment to |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | helping their students succeed, Bill and Martha Westfall have made |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | a lasting positive difference in the lives of countless area |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | residents, and they may take well-deserved pride in their |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | exceptional records of achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | Legislature hereby commend Bill and Martha Westfall on their |

| 31 | 32 | | outstanding service with the Robstown Independent School District |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it |
