55 R E S O L U T I O N
66 WHEREAS, Senior Officer Bob Dorsch of the Corpus Christi
77 Police Department has deservedly been presented with a Life Saving
88 Award for his heroic actions in the line of duty; and
99 WHEREAS, On November 4, 2014, Officer Dorsch responded to a
1010 9-1-1 call about a man who was found unconscious in his truck; the
1111 man's companion had begun performing CPR to restore his breathing
1212 and heartbeat, and after arriving on the scene, Officer Dorsch took
1313 over administering chest compressions as the other individual
1414 provided rescue breathing to the victim; another officer,
1515 Lieutenant Adrian Diaz, also came to assist them in keeping the man
1616 alive; and
1717 WHEREAS, Although the victim remained unresponsive, the
1818 three men continued their efforts until paramedics could reach them
1919 and transport the man to a hospital; miraculously, the victim
2020 survived, which emergency personnel credited to their early and
2121 sustained attempts to resuscitate him; and
2222 WHEREAS, In a crisis situation, Officer Bob Dorsch remained
2323 calm and implemented the skills he had learned in his training, and
2424 in so doing, he helped to save the life of a fellow Texan in need;
2525 now, therefore, be it
2626 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2727 Legislature hereby recognize Senior Officer Bob Dorsch on his
2828 receipt of the Life Saving Award from the Corpus Christi Police
2929 Department and extend to him sincere appreciation for his admirable
3030 public service; and, be it further
3131 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3232 prepared for Officer Dorsch as an expression of high regard by the
3333 Texas House of Representatives.
