| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Senior Officer Bob Dorsch of the Corpus Christi |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Police Department has deservedly been presented with a Life Saving |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Award for his heroic actions in the line of duty; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, On November 4, 2014, Officer Dorsch responded to a |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 9-1-1 call about a man who was found unconscious in his truck; the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | man's companion had begun performing CPR to restore his breathing |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and heartbeat, and after arriving on the scene, Officer Dorsch took |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | over administering chest compressions as the other individual |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | provided rescue breathing to the victim; another officer, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Lieutenant Adrian Diaz, also came to assist them in keeping the man |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | alive; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Although the victim remained unresponsive, the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | three men continued their efforts until paramedics could reach them |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and transport the man to a hospital; miraculously, the victim |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | survived, which emergency personnel credited to their early and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | sustained attempts to resuscitate him; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, In a crisis situation, Officer Bob Dorsch remained |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | calm and implemented the skills he had learned in his training, and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | in so doing, he helped to save the life of a fellow Texan in need; |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby recognize Senior Officer Bob Dorsch on his |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | receipt of the Life Saving Award from the Corpus Christi Police |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Department and extend to him sincere appreciation for his admirable |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | public service; and, be it further |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | prepared for Officer Dorsch as an expression of high regard by the |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Texas House of Representatives. |
