56 WHEREAS, Employees of Methodist Dallas Medical Center and
67 members of the local community are taking part in the 32nd Annual
78 National Night Out crime and drug prevention observance on October
89 6, 2015; and
910 WHEREAS, By joining together in this important initiative,
1011 participants are raising awareness of crime and drug prevention
1112 strategies and encouraging support for anticrime programs while
1213 strengthening neighborhood spirit and police-community
1314 partnerships; and
1415 WHEREAS, Since its inception in 1984, National Night Out has
1516 grown to include more than 37 million people in the United States
1617 and Canada, and each year, Texans show their support through a
1718 variety of activities around the state; and
1819 WHEREAS, The Methodist Dallas Medical Center event provides
1920 an opportunity for hospital staff and area residents to educate
2021 themselves about crime prevention and to reaffirm their commitment
2122 to making their community an even safer place in which to live and
2223 work; now, therefore, be it
2324 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2425 Legislature hereby commemorate the Methodist Dallas Medical Center
2526 National Night Out crime and drug prevention observance and extend
2627 to all those involved sincere best wishes for a productive and
2728 enjoyable event.
