| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Shane Haggerty has greatly benefited the youth of |

| 7 | 8 | | Independent School District Board of Trustees; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born and raised in El Paso, Mr. Haggerty was |

| 9 | 10 | | educated in Ysleta ISD schools; he was elected in May 2010 to |

| 10 | 11 | | represent the Parkland area as the District 3 trustee, and he has |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | also served on the district's Strategic Planning Committee; and |

| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Haggerty is a 2006 graduate of the University of |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Phoenix and a Microsoft Certified Professional; he has been |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | employed with the El Paso Fire Department for 17 years and also |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | works as a technology consultant for several local companies; |

| 16 | 17 | | dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities in El Paso, he has |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | served as president of the Far West Texas School Boards Association |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | and the T-STEM Advisory Board and as a representative for Region XIX |

| 19 | 20 | | on the Texas Association of School Boards Legislative Advisory |

| 20 | 21 | | Committee; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Shane Haggerty has demonstrated a steadfast |

| 22 | 23 | | commitment to building a bright and promising future for local |

| 23 | 24 | | children, and in so doing, he has earned the deep respect and |

| 24 | 25 | | appreciation of his fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 26 | 27 | | Legislature hereby honor Shane Haggerty for his service with the |
