| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A 70th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |

| 6 | 7 | | mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Don and Jackie Semple |

| 7 | 8 | | of Sulphur Springs celebrated this joyous milestone on February 6, |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Semple were united in matrimony at a |

| 10 | 11 | | ceremony held in Haddonfield, New Jersey, on that memorable day in |

| 11 | 12 | | 1945; over the years, they became the parents of five children, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Donna, Steven, and Kenneth Semple, Cheryl Pierce, and the late |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Beverly Switala, and today their fine family has grown to include |

| 14 | 15 | | six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, This inspiring couple met while working summer jobs |

| 16 | 17 | | as messengers at the Campbell Soup Company; he went on to serve in |

| 17 | 18 | | the U.S. Coast Guard, and she went on to become a U.S. Navy code |

| 18 | 19 | | breaker stationed in Washington, D.C.; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Semple have enjoyed seven decades of |

| 20 | 21 | | abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an |

| 21 | 22 | | exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |

| 22 | 23 | | commitment; now, therefore, be it |
