R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Michael Silvas has earned the great esteem of
members of the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo community through his service
as a tribal councilman; and
WHEREAS, Elected to the Pueblo's governing body on December
31, 2014, Mr. Silvas currently serves as the maintenance manager at
Native Landscape and Maintenance, where he oversees 12 employees
and is responsible for landscaping contracts for commercial
buildings throughout El Paso; he previously worked for Three C's
Contractors as manager of the maintenance division and was also
employed by the Socorro Independent School District; Mr. Silvas
attended El Paso Community College and earned his commercial
applicator certification with the Texas Department of Agriculture;
and
WHEREAS, Heir to a proud culture, Michael Silvas is helping
to preserve the vital traditions and values of the Pueblo while
working to enhance the quality of life for its people, and he is
indeed deserving of the trust that has been placed in him by members
of his community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Michael Silvas for his service on the
Tribal Council of Ysleta del Sur Pueblo and extend to him sincere
best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Silvas as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
