H.R. No. 1538
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Roberto Pedraza III has earned the great esteem of
members of the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo community through his service
as a tribal councilman; and
WHEREAS, Elected to the Pueblo's governing body on December
31, 2012, Mr. Pedraza has served on the Housing Committee and on the
Investment Committee, where he oversees the tribe's education
endowment, permanent fund, and other fiscal assets; he also serves
as a representative on the Drug Court and Youth Court programs, and
he previously held the position of mayordomo for the Feast of San
Antonio; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Pedraza is a 1995 graduate of Ysleta High School
and is currently employed as fleet manager at the Speaking Rock
Entertainment Center, a Tigua-owned business; he resides on the
Pueblo reservation with his family; and
WHEREAS, Heir to a proud culture, Roberto Pedraza III is
helping to preserve the vital traditions and values of the Pueblo
while working to enhance the quality of life for its people, and he
is indeed deserving of the trust that has been placed in him by
members of his community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Roberto Pedraza III for his service on the
Tribal Council of Ysleta del Sur Pueblo and extend to him sincere
best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Pedraza as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
