 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Ed Bandas has deservedly been named the retail
 development coordinator of the City of Belton, and he brings to this
 position a wealth of valuable knowledge and insight; and
 WHEREAS, A native of Temple, Mr. Bandas graduated with a
 bachelor of business administration degree in marketing from
 Stephen F. Austin State University in 1990; he subsequently served
 this nation for four years in the United States Marine Corps, from
 which he retired as a field artillery captain in 1996; and
 WHEREAS, After returning to civilian life, Mr. Bandas gained
 a wide range of work experience in a number of industries, including
 health care, finance, real estate, and retail; in each new role he
 took on, he earned the respect and admiration of his peers for his
 leadership and for his keen business acumen, and he has garnered a
 host of accolades for his exceptional efforts; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Bandas has resided in Belton for five years, and
 in 2012, he cofounded the nonprofit Army Marathon, which he
 continues to serve today as president and race director; to ensure
 the event's success, he has led planning teams and developed
 marketing and sponsorship strategies and operational plans for the
 annual race, as well as coordinated hundreds of law enforcement and
 emergency medical personnel and hospital staff members and
 assembled thousands of volunteers and participants; and
 WHEREAS, This dynamic Texan has further distinguished
 himself as a valued congregant of Christ Church in Temple and as a
 member of the boards of the Christ Church School and the Central
 Texas Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America; and
 WHEREAS, The dedication, professionalism, and commitment to
 excellence of Ed Bandas have served him well in many fields of
 endeavor, and as he takes on the challenges and opportunities of his
 new position, he may indeed reflect with pride on his notable record
 of accomplishment; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Ed Bandas on his selection as
 retail development coordinator of the City of Belton and extend to
 him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Bandas as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
