| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Ed Bandas has deservedly been named the retail |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A native of Temple, Mr. Bandas graduated with a |

| 9 | 10 | | bachelor of business administration degree in marketing from |

| 10 | 11 | | Stephen F. Austin State University in 1990; he subsequently served |

| 11 | 12 | | this nation for four years in the United States Marine Corps, from |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | which he retired as a field artillery captain in 1996; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, After returning to civilian life, Mr. Bandas gained |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | a wide range of work experience in a number of industries, including |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | health care, finance, real estate, and retail; in each new role he |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | took on, he earned the respect and admiration of his peers for his |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | leadership and for his keen business acumen, and he has garnered a |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | host of accolades for his exceptional efforts; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Bandas has resided in Belton for five years, and |

| 20 | 21 | | in 2012, he cofounded the nonprofit Army Marathon, which he |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | continues to serve today as president and race director; to ensure |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | the event's success, he has led planning teams and developed |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | marketing and sponsorship strategies and operational plans for the |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | annual race, as well as coordinated hundreds of law enforcement and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | emergency medical personnel and hospital staff members and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | assembled thousands of volunteers and participants; and |

| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, This dynamic Texan has further distinguished |

| 28 | 29 | | himself as a valued congregant of Christ Church in Temple and as a |

| 29 | 30 | | member of the boards of the Christ Church School and the Central |
