45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Members of Leadership Mesquite are visiting the
67 State Capitol on March 31 and April 1, 2015, and the occasion
78 provides a fitting opportunity to recognize this notable group; and
89 WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce,
910 Leadership Mesquite strives to educate civic-minded individuals
1011 about city, county, and state government; the course lasts nine
1112 months and involves citizens who represent a wide range of
1213 backgrounds and perspectives; and
1314 WHEREAS, Leadership Mesquite works in cooperation with such
1415 entities as the Mesquite Economic Development Board, Dallas County
1516 Commissioners Court, Mesquite Independent School District, and
1617 Eastfield College to sponsor different programs every month to help
1718 members gain a better understanding of the community; moreover,
1819 each class chooses a special project to support, and this year, the
1920 group is sponsoring Texas Mission of Mercy, a mobile dental clinic
2021 that treats uninsured Texans free of charge; and
2122 WHEREAS, Through its efforts to promote a spirit of
2223 volunteerism and community pride, Leadership Mesquite is fostering
2324 an informed and engaged citizenry, and the program is helping to
2425 build a brighter and more prosperous future for the Lone Star State;
2526 now, therefore, be it
2627 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2728 Legislature hereby recognize March 31 and April 1, 2015, as
2829 Leadership Mesquite Days at the State Capitol and extend to all
2930 participants sincere best wishes for continued success.
