 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The family and many friends of Lisa Merka of Trout
 Creek were deeply saddened by her untimely passing on January 6,
 2015, at the age of 50; and
 WHEREAS, A native of the Kirbyville area, Ms. Merka was an
 active and valued member of her community; in addition to directing
 the local chamber of commerce, she contributed to her congregation
 at First Assembly of God Church, where she taught children's
 classes and volunteered to assist with a number of vital projects;
 she was employed by CHRISTUS Jasper Memorial Hospital, and she
 earned the admiration of her colleagues for the compassionate care
 she provided; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Merka shared a rewarding marriage with her
 husband, Travis, with whom she raised two sons, Ivan and Randy;
 through the years, she was further blessed with a daughter-in-law,
 Ashley, and she became the beloved "MaMaw" of two grandchildren,
 Autumn and Kayden; and
 WHEREAS, Lisa Merka lived her life with enthusiasm and joy,
 and though her journey on this earth ended far too soon, memories of
 her faith, warmth, and service to others will continue to comfort
 and inspire all those who knew and loved her; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Lisa Merka and extend
 sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her husband,
 Travis Merka; to her sons, Ivan Merka and Randy Merka and his wife,
 Ashley; to her grandchildren, Autumn Grace Merka and Kayden Parker
 Merka; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lisa Merka.
