| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Tyler County Hospital School of Vocational |

| 7 | 8 | | Award at the annual Tyler County Chamber of Commerce Members |

| 8 | 9 | | Banquet on February 3, 2015; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The school was established in 1960 to train |

| 10 | 11 | | vocational nurses, who work under the supervision of physicians and |

| 11 | 12 | | registered nurses to provide patients with supplemental care in a |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | variety of settings; its students go on to work for local hospitals |

| 13 | 14 | | and other medical facilities, and since 1990, nearly 900 students |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | have graduated from the school, with an average licensure rate of 90 |

| 15 | 16 | | percent over the past 10 years; and |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Since 1987, the school has been headed by Eva |

| 17 | 18 | | Stanley, RN, BSN, and MSN, and its faculty includes full-time |

| 18 | 19 | | instructors Lynn Hays, RN, BSN, Tracie Kenner, RN, and Kathy Broom, |

| 19 | 20 | | RN, and part-time instructors Bonnie Owens, RN, and Alicia Havard, |

| 20 | 21 | | LVN; the school also enjoys the support of the Tyler County Hospital |

| 21 | 22 | | Foundation, which works with the hospital to provide the school |

| 22 | 23 | | with the latest technology; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, This unique institution is working hard to help |

| 24 | 25 | | reduce the critical shortage of well-trained nurses in the Lone |

| 25 | 26 | | Star State, and its success has contributed greatly to the quality |

| 26 | 27 | | of life in Tyler County and beyond; now, therefore, be it |
