| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, David Hale stepped down as chair of the Hunt County |

| 6 | 7 | | Republican Party on March 9, 2015, and the conclusion of his |

| 7 | 8 | | outstanding tenure provides a fitting opportunity to commend him |

| 8 | 9 | | for his civic engagement; and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, First appointed Hunt County Republican chair in |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | October 2008, Mr. Hale played a key role in advancing the party's |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | mission among local residents; the number of elected Republicans in |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | the Hunt County government increased from 12 to 21 during his time |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | in office, and the party had earned the support of 70 percent of |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | voters in the area; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, After six and a half years, Mr. Hale left his post as |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | chair in order to serve on the State Republican Executive Committee |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | for Senate District 2, a position to which he was elected during the |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Texas Republican Convention in June 2014; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Hale has been actively engaged in politics on |

| 20 | 21 | | the local, state, and national level for many years; he has chaired |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | the Hunt County Republican Convention three times and helps out at |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | polling places in the county every year; he has also worked on the |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | campaigns of state legislators and interned in Washington, D.C., |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | with U.S. Congressman Ralph Hall; and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, A committed champion of his community, David Hale |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | has contributed greatly to the Republican Party's success in Hunt |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | County, and he may take well-deserved pride in his exceptional |

| 28 | 29 | | record of achievement; now, therefore, be it |

| 29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 30 | 31 | | Legislature hereby honor David Hale on his service as chair of the |

| 31 | 32 | | Hunt County Republican Party and extend to him sincere best wishes |
