H.R. No. 1603
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, General Dynamics Information Technology in Waco has
been named the 2015 Employer of the Year by Workforce Solutions for
the Heart of Texas; and
WHEREAS, Workforce Solutions offers resources for jobseekers
and employers in Bosque, Falls, Freestone, Hill, Limestone, and
McLennan Counties; the organization held its annual Award of
Excellence Banquet in January and presented the Employer of the
Year accolade to General Dynamics IT in recognition of that
company's significant record of job creation and its investment in
the community; and
WHEREAS, For more than five decades, General Dynamics IT has
provided information technology, systems engineering, professional
services, and simulation and training for federal, state, and local
customers; in Waco, the company operates a call center to assist
clients across the country; using Workforce Solutions as its main
source for applicants, the Waco office hired more than 1,000
employees during its first year and over 1,600 in 2014; and
WHEREAS, Businesses that provide work for Texans and that
contribute to the local economy are important components of a
prosperous future, and General Dynamics Information Technology is
to be commended for the positive role it plays in the Lone Star
State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate General Dynamics Information
Technology in Waco on receiving the 2015 Employer of the Year award
and extend to all those associated with the company sincere best
wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the company as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
