45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their
67 memories of Jeremy Davis Brown of Austin, who died on September 9,
78 2014, at the age of 43; and
89 WHEREAS, Jeremy Brown was born on January 31, 1971, at the
910 Keesler Air Force Base Hospital in Biloxi, Mississippi, to Debra
1011 and David Brown; he grew up in Mississippi and in his early years
1112 lived in Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, and Odessa, before graduating
1213 from high school in Bellaire, Texas, in 1989; and
1314 WHEREAS, For more than 10 years, Mr. Brown worked as a
1415 private investigator in Houston; in 1997, he received a bachelor's
1516 degree in government from The University of Texas at Austin, and he
1617 went on to earn his law degree at South Texas College of Law in
1718 Houston; he was admitted to the bar in 2006 and opened his own
1819 family law practice in Austin; and
1920 WHEREAS, Mr. Brown spent as much time as he could pursuing an
2021 active life out-of-doors, fishing along the Texas Coast and hunting
2122 in South and West Texas; he was devoted to his three Labrador
2223 retrievers, and he loved everything about Texas, from the history
2324 and the landscape, to its music and its people; and
2425 WHEREAS, Although his life ended far too soon, Jeremy Brown
2526 will forever be remembered by his loved ones and his friends for his
2627 kindness, his warmth, and his concern for others; now, therefore,
2728 be it
2829 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2930 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Jeremy Davis Brown
3031 and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
3132 mother, Debra Clark Eckel; to his father, Marshall Davis Brown Jr.;
3233 to his maternal grandmother, Zoe Clark; to his stepmother, Jo Robin
3334 Brown; to his stepfather, Floyd Eckel; to his brothers, Nicholas
3435 Eckel, Robert Lee Brown, and William Price Brown; to his sisters,
3536 Elizabeth Cathleen Brown, Jessica Eckel Blad, and Kathryn Eckel; to
3637 his aunt, Ronda Clark Barnett; and to his other relatives and
3738 friends; and, be it further
3839 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3940 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
4041 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jeremy
4142 Brown.
