| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Darren Turley of Dublin, executive director of the |

| 6 | 7 | | Texas Association of Dairymen, has greatly benefited dairy farmers |

| 7 | 8 | | across the Lone Star State through his lifelong involvement in the |

| 8 | 9 | | industry; and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, A second-generation dairyman, Darren Turley grew up |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | on his family's farm in Dublin; he became a leader early on, serving |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | as a member of the Texas Farm Bureau Young Farmer and Rancher |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Committee and as chair of young farmer programs for the National |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Milk Producers Federation, Dairy Farmers of America, and Associated |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Milk Producers, Inc.; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Turley later joined the Texas Association of |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Dairymen, which has advocated in behalf of dairy farmers since |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | 1991; he helped guide the organization for more than a year as |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | assistant director before he was named its executive director in |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | December 2010; in addition to his work with that group, he is an |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | executive committee member and the legislative committee chair of |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | the Texas Agricultural Cooperative Council as well as the chair of |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | the Texas Agriculture Council; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, With a bachelor's degree in business administration |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | from Tarleton State University, this esteemed Texan brings to his |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | many roles a wealth of knowledge and experience; he participated in |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | Class XII of the Texas Agricultural Lifetime Leadership Program |

| 27 | 28 | | through the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, and he graduated |

| 28 | 29 | | from the AgLead Program of the Texas Farm Bureau, an organization |

| 29 | 30 | | that has recognized him with its Excellence in Agriculture Award; |

| 31 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Darren Turley has |

| 32 | 33 | | exemplified the highest ideals of his profession, and he may indeed |

| 33 | 34 | | reflect with great pride on his notable record of achievement; now, |

| 35 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
