R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Peters family of Arlington has set an inspiring
example of charitable giving by making a generous donation to two
local elementary schools; and
WHEREAS, Represented by Lisann Peters and her son, Kort, this
notable family gave $25,000 to fund the creation of Reading Oasis
rooms at Webb and Adams Elementary Schools; equipped with more than
1,000 books, rocking chairs, and a listening library, each Reading
Oasis provides an inviting place where children and families can
enjoy reading together; an initiative of the United Way of Tarrant
County, Reading Oases are installed in schools that serve
economically disadvantaged children, with the goal of encouraging
students and their families to make reading a habit; and
WHEREAS, Through their admirable support, the Peters family
has made a meaningful difference in the community and in the lives
of young students, and it is truly a pleasure to honor their
significant contribution; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby commend the Peters family for its donations to
Webb and Adams Elementary Schools and that they be extended sincere
best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the family as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
