| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Peters family of Arlington has set an inspiring |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Represented by Lisann Peters and her son, Kort, this |

| 9 | 10 | | notable family gave $25,000 to fund the creation of Reading Oasis |

| 10 | 11 | | rooms at Webb and Adams Elementary Schools; equipped with more than |

| 11 | 12 | | 1,000 books, rocking chairs, and a listening library, each Reading |

| 12 | 13 | | Oasis provides an inviting place where children and families can |

| 13 | 14 | | enjoy reading together; an initiative of the United Way of Tarrant |

| 14 | 15 | | County, Reading Oases are installed in schools that serve |

| 15 | 16 | | economically disadvantaged children, with the goal of encouraging |

| 16 | 17 | | students and their families to make reading a habit; and |

| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Through their admirable support, the Peters family |

| 18 | 19 | | has made a meaningful difference in the community and in the lives |

| 19 | 20 | | of young students, and it is truly a pleasure to honor their |

| 20 | 21 | | significant contribution; now, therefore, be it |

| 21 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
