45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, The Peters family of Arlington has set an inspiring
67 example of charitable giving by making a generous donation to two
78 local elementary schools; and
89 WHEREAS, Represented by Lisann Peters and her son, Kort, this
910 notable family gave $25,000 to fund the creation of Reading Oasis
1011 rooms at Webb and Adams Elementary Schools; equipped with more than
1112 1,000 books, rocking chairs, and a listening library, each Reading
1213 Oasis provides an inviting place where children and families can
1314 enjoy reading together; an initiative of the United Way of Tarrant
1415 County, Reading Oases are installed in schools that serve
1516 economically disadvantaged children, with the goal of encouraging
1617 students and their families to make reading a habit; and
1718 WHEREAS, Through their admirable support, the Peters family
1819 has made a meaningful difference in the community and in the lives
1920 of young students, and it is truly a pleasure to honor their
2021 significant contribution; now, therefore, be it
2122 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2223 Legislature hereby commend the Peters family for its donations to
2324 Webb and Adams Elementary Schools and that they be extended sincere
2425 best wishes for the future; and, be it further
2526 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2627 prepared for the family as an expression of high regard by the Texas
2728 House of Representatives.
