45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Officer Jonathan Sosa of the Arlington Police
67 Department has deservedly been presented with a Police Officer's
78 Award for his heroic actions in the line of duty; and
89 WHEREAS, While on routine patrol, Officer Sosa noticed smoke
910 in the roadway and quickly ascertained that it was coming from a
1011 nearby duplex that had caught on fire; he immediately notified the
1112 residents of the adjoining unit, helping four adults and two
1213 children to escape the blaze unharmed; he then kicked in the door of
1314 the burning residence, but he was unable to enter due to the
1415 intensity of the flames; and
1516 WHEREAS, Officer Sosa subsequently contacted the occupants
1617 of neighboring homes, making them aware of the fire and helping them
1718 to evacuate as well; no citizens were injured as a result of the
1819 fire, thanks in large measure to the tenacity and quick thinking of
1920 this dedicated public servant; and
2021 WHEREAS, Every day, the peace officers of Texas come to the
2122 aid of individuals in dangerous situations, and in providing vital
2223 aid in an emergency, Officer Jonathan Sosa has exemplified the
2324 highest ideals of his profession; now, therefore, be it
2425 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2526 Legislature hereby commend Officer Jonathan Sosa on his receipt of
2627 the Police Officer's Award from the Arlington Police Department and
2728 extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success with his
2829 important work; and, be it further
2930 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3031 prepared for Officer Sosa as an expression of high regard by the
3132 Texas House of Representatives.
