H.R. No. 1725
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Three members of the Silsbee High School girls'
basketball team were honored for their exceptional play during the
2014-2015 season by being included in the 24-4A All-District awards
selections; and
WHEREAS, Demonstrating commendable skill on the court,
freshman Ashlyn Martin was named Newcomer of the Year; during
district play, she recorded a number of impressive statistics, such
as averaging 7.75 points per game, tallying 43 assists, and
grabbing 45 rebounds; and
WHEREAS, Sophomore Eranishia Carmenar was selected for the
All-District First Team after averaging 15 points per game and
compiling 39 steals and 162 rebounds against league opponents; and
WHEREAS, Senior Shalayna Hudson received an Honorable
Mention accolade for her efforts in district contests, where she
scored a total of 47 points and grabbed 36 offensive and 48
defensive rebounds; and
WHEREAS, The All-District awards provide fitting
acknowledgement of the talent, hard work, and commitment to
excellence demonstrated by these exemplary student-athletes, and
they may take justifiable pride in their achievements; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the All-District basketball
players from Silsbee High School and extend to them best wishes for
continued success in all their endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the players as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
