| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Central Texas Highland Lakes are irreplaceable |

| 6 | 7 | | natural resources that supply drinking water to area residents and |

| 7 | 8 | | serve as an important economic engine in the Lone Star State; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Formed in 2011, the Central Texas Water Coalition |

| 9 | 10 | | (CTWC) is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization that brings together |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | concerned individuals and groups to constructively address the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | water issues of these lakes and the rest of the lower Colorado River |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | basin; the coalition strives to protect water supplies and water |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | levels in Central Texas for the benefit of economic development and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | human health and safety; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The CTWC now boasts a membership of more than 3,000 |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Texans from the business community, local government, property |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | owner associations, and environmental interest groups; these |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | outstanding volunteers spend countless hours attending meetings, |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | doing research, participating in outreach programs, and advocating |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | for water policies; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Water management and conservation are even more |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | important during these times of extreme drought, and the members of |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | the Central Texas Water Coalition are indeed deserving of |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | recognition for their dedicated efforts in preserving the Highland |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | Lakes; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 27 | 28 | | Legislature hereby honor the Central Texas Water Coalition and |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | commend its members for their commitment to this important cause; |
