| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Marie Borland Rinewalt of Dawson County celebrated |

| 6 | 7 | | her 90th birthday on March 21, 2015, and a host of her friends and |

| 7 | 8 | | admirers gathered to extend to her their congratulations and best |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | wishes; and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Born on March 21, 1925, the former Marie Borland |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | grew up on a cotton farm in Tom Green County; in 1938, her father |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | could no longer afford to pay farmhands to help with the harvest, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | and the Borland family moved to Dawson County, where they settled on |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | land west of Lamesa; from an early age, Mrs. Rinewalt helped out in |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | the house and on the farm as they raised cows, chickens, and hogs; |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, In her junior year of high school, she accepted an |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | invitation from her future husband, William Rinewalt, to a |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Halloween church party; in December 1942, Mr. Rinewalt was drafted, |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | and he served his country in the Pacific theater during World War |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | II, earning a Bronze Star; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, The couple married on April 2, 1946, in the Church of |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Christ parsonage, with Mrs. Rinewalt's sister, Betty, as a witness; |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | they went on to share a richly rewarding union, farming and raising |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | cattle together for 62 years, until Mr. Rinewalt's passing in 2008; |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, In her leisure time, Mrs. Rinewalt has enjoyed |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | tending her garden, crocheting, and sewing; she remains active, |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | riding her stationary bicycle for five miles each morning, and |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | attends services and community events at the Lamesa Church of |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | Christ; and |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Marie Rinewalt has witnessed a panorama of change |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | over the course of nine decades, and she has met life's challenges |
|---|
| 33 | 34 | | and opportunities with dignity and grace, earning the deep |
|---|
| 34 | 35 | | admiration of all who are privileged to know her; now, therefore, be |
