45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Morris McRae of Miller High School in Corpus Christi
67 received fitting recognition when he was named 2015 Secondary
78 Teacher of the Year by the Corpus Christi Independent School
89 District; and
910 WHEREAS, A U.S. and world history teacher at Miller High
1011 School since 2009, Mr. McRae is also an advanced placement
1112 instructor in the same subjects; his project-based approach to
1213 teaching has made his classes popular with students and won him an
1314 earlier accolade, when he was named Teacher of the Year for the
1415 2010-2011 school year; and
1516 WHEREAS, Mr. McRae holds a bachelor's degree summa cum laude
1617 in history, and he earned a master's degree in educational and
1718 instructional technology from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi
1819 in 2014; he also brings to his classes his 21 years of prior
1920 experience in the business world as an account executive at
2021 Motorola Codex; and
2122 WHEREAS, Morris McRae exemplifies the passion,
2223 determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our
2324 best teachers, and he is inspiring in his students a love of
2425 learning that will serve them well throughout their lives; now,
2526 therefore, be it
2627 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2728 Legislature hereby congratulate Morris McRae on being named
2829 Secondary Teacher of the Year by the Corpus Christi Independent
2930 School District and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
3031 success and happiness; and, be it further
3132 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3233 prepared for Mr. McRae as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3334 House of Representatives.
