| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The pastor of the Inspiring Body of Christ Church in |

| 6 | 7 | | Dallas, Dr. Rickie G. Rush, is serving as Pastor of the Day for the |

| 7 | 8 | | Texas House of Representatives on April 10, 2015; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, For a quarter-century, Dr. Rush has ably led IBOC as |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | its founding pastor; the church has expanded immensely under his |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | careful guidance, growing from a group of just nine original |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | members into what is today a flourishing congregation of more than |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | 14,000 worshippers; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed clergyman holds a bachelor's degree in |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | secondary education from The University of Texas at Arlington as |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | well as a doctor of divinity degree from Rialto Bible College; |

| 16 | 17 | | before entering the ministry full-time, Dr. Rush served as a |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | theater arts teacher at Skyline High School, and he has also taught |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | courses at Cedar Valley Community College and Christ for the |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Nations Institute; he currently is principal at the IBOC Mary |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | L. Rush Children's College for preschoolers and kindergartners and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | the church's Christian Academy for first- through sixth-graders; |

| 22 | 23 | | moreover, he has further distinguished himself as an author and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | radio host; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Rush has been recognized on several occasions |

| 25 | 26 | | for his endeavors as a minister and public speaker, and he has |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | helped to give back to the greater community by sponsoring food |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | drives for needy residents in the Dallas area; and |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Through the years, Pastor Rickie Rush has inspired |

| 29 | 30 | | countless Texans with his message of grace and goodwill, and it is a |

| 30 | 31 | | pleasure to welcome him to this chamber; now, therefore, be it |

| 31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
