No. 1831 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Amber Litchfield of Livingston has received a President's Volunteer Service Award in recognition of her efforts to support U.S. military personnel abroad; and WHEREAS, The President's Volunteer Service Award honors Americans of all ages who have contributed a significant number of service hours over the course of a year; winners collect a personalized certificate, an official pin, medallion, or coin, and a congratulatory letter from the president of the United States; and WHEREAS, A senior at Livingston High School, Ms. Litchfield has volunteered more than 100 hours through the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership program; she donated her time with Families and Individuals Thanking Heroes (F.A.I.T.H.), a local nonprofit that sends care packages to members of the armed forces who are stationed overseas; in addition to her community service, she has participated in the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program for four years; she plays the trombone in the Royal Brigade Band as well as the jazz band and competes at University Interscholastic League academic meets; and WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has demonstrated remarkable initiative, compassion, and dedication, and she is a source of great pride to her family and community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Amber Litchfield on her receipt of a President's Volunteer Service Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Litchfield as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
