 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The year 2015 marks the 40th anniversary of the
 founding of My Credit Union; and
 WHEREAS, In the summer of 1975, 16 individuals established
 Brewery Workers of Texas, a financial cooperative that served
 employees of the Miller Brewery of Fort Worth; over its first decade
 of existence, the institution enrolled some 1,100 members; and
 WHEREAS, The business went on to merge with R-Tech Federal
 Credit Union in the mid-1990s and opened two additional branches;
 it underwent even greater expansion in the early 2000s, when it was
 renamed My Credit Union and subsequently absorbed approximately
 1,400 new members by joining accounts with Texas Steel Employees
 and Johnson & Johnson Employees Federal Credit Unions; and
 WHEREAS, Today, My Credit Union is considered one of the most
 respected financial institutions in North Texas, with six branches
 serving more than 7,600 members in Van Zandt, Grayson, Wood,
 Kaufman, and Tarrant Counties and assets totaling over $39 million;
 and
 WHEREAS, For four decades, My Credit Union has offered
 exceptional service and provided hardworking citizens with
 financial assistance to realize their dreams, and it is a pleasure
 to recognize the valuable contributions of this Lone Star State
 institution; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby commemorate the 40th anniversary of My Credit
 Union and extend to all those associated with the establishment
 sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for My Credit Union as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
