| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The year 2015 marks the 40th anniversary of the |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, In the summer of 1975, 16 individuals established |

| 8 | 9 | | Brewery Workers of Texas, a financial cooperative that served |

| 9 | 10 | | employees of the Miller Brewery of Fort Worth; over its first decade |

| 10 | 11 | | of existence, the institution enrolled some 1,100 members; and |

| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The business went on to merge with R-Tech Federal |

| 12 | 13 | | Credit Union in the mid-1990s and opened two additional branches; |

| 13 | 14 | | it underwent even greater expansion in the early 2000s, when it was |

| 14 | 15 | | renamed My Credit Union and subsequently absorbed approximately |

| 15 | 16 | | 1,400 new members by joining accounts with Texas Steel Employees |

| 16 | 17 | | and Johnson & Johnson Employees Federal Credit Unions; and |

| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Today, My Credit Union is considered one of the most |

| 18 | 19 | | respected financial institutions in North Texas, with six branches |

| 19 | 20 | | serving more than 7,600 members in Van Zandt, Grayson, Wood, |

| 20 | 21 | | Kaufman, and Tarrant Counties and assets totaling over $39 million; |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, For four decades, My Credit Union has offered |

| 23 | 24 | | exceptional service and provided hardworking citizens with |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | financial assistance to realize their dreams, and it is a pleasure |

| 25 | 26 | | to recognize the valuable contributions of this Lone Star State |

| 26 | 27 | | institution; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 28 | 29 | | Legislature hereby commemorate the 40th anniversary of My Credit |

| 29 | 30 | | Union and extend to all those associated with the establishment |
