| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, For 15 years, the Eta Pi Omega chapter of the Alpha |

| 8 | 9 | | Kappa Alpha Sorority has partnered with the Ysleta Independent |

| 9 | 10 | | School District to organize the Black History Art Show; originally |

| 10 | 11 | | limited to a single high school, the exhibition has since grown to |

| 11 | 12 | | include three El Paso school districts, with more than 30 |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | parochial, elementary, junior high, and high schools |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | participating; the show took place in La Galería de la Misión de |

| 14 | 15 | | Senecú, giving students the experience of displaying their work in |

| 15 | 16 | | a real art museum; and |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Under the expert guidance of Jackie Beard, the chair |

| 17 | 18 | | of the Black History Art Show, the exhibit offers fresh |

| 19 | 20 | | raising awareness of forgotten or undervalued individuals who have |

| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 26 | 27 | | Legislature hereby commemorate the 15th annual Black History Art |
