 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The untimely death of Officer Adrian Arellano of the
 El Paso Police Department on March 18, 2015, at the age of 39, has
 brought a profound loss to his loved ones and to the community he
 served; and
 WHEREAS, A longtime resident of El Paso, "Curtis" Arellano
 graduated from Socorro High School in 1995 and had worked in the
 department for the past 10 years; he was steadfast in his dedication
 to protecting the safety and welfare of the public, and after only
 two years on the force, he was given a special assignment to the
 department's tactical section; and
 WHEREAS, Officer Arellano's gruff, no-nonsense exterior
 belied his warm heart and generous nature; he was a true friend to
 many, and his affection and devotion to his wife of 13 years,
 Margaret, and their son, Adrian, were apparent to all who knew him;
 he cherished his role as a father and always strove to set an
 honorable example; and
 WHEREAS, Though Officer Arellano's life ended far too soon,
 he leaves behind a record of service that his loved ones can
 remember with pride; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Officer Adrian
 Arellano and extend deepest condolences to the members of his
 family: to his wife, Margaret Arellano; to his son, Adrian Arellano
 Jr.; to his parents, Juan Manuel and Estela Arellano; to his
 brothers, Juan Carlos and Steven and his wife, Ginesa Snelling; to
 his sister, Mayra; to his nephews, Mario and Aaron; to his niece,
 Alicia; to his grandparents, Manuel Arellano and Arcadia Huerta; to
 his brothers-in-law, Jerry Delgado and his wife, Patricia, and
 Fidel Rivera Jr.; to his mother-in-law, Romelia Rivera; to his
 brothers and sisters in blue; and to his other friends and
 relatives; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Officer
 Adrian Arellano.
