R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The El Paso Electric Company has greatly benefited
its community through its support of the El Paso Independent School
District Education Foundation; and
WHEREAS, Established in 1994, the EPISD Education Foundation
is dedicated to providing innovative teaching and helpful resources
to students interested in careers in science, technology,
engineering, and math (STEM) fields; through the years, the
organization has engaged in corporate partnerships and has hosted
fund-raising events and employee giving campaigns to award more
than $1.4 million in college scholarships and classroom impact
grants; and
WHEREAS, The El Paso Electric Company has helped advance the
foundation's worthwhile mission by pledging a generous donation to
its 2014-2015 scholarship fund and by serving as honorary chair for
its Campaign for Excellence; and
WHEREAS, The education of young Texans is vital to the
continued prosperity and dynamism of the Lone Star State, and the El
Paso Electric Company has demonstrated a noteworthy commitment to
helping prepare students to meet the challenges and opportunities
that lie ahead; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby commend the El Paso Electric Company for its
contributions to the El Paso Independent School District Education
Foundation and extend to the company sincere best wishes for the
future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the El Paso Electric Company as an expression of high
regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
